Match the material to the job

PA12 CF is what we run internally — field-validated, fuel and oil resistant, load-bearing. But not every part needs that. Pick the material that fits the requirement and the budget. If you're not sure, tell us what the part does and we'll recommend.

Material Best for Heat resistance Notes
PA12 CF Engineering Load-bearing, under-hood, fuel/oil exposure, structural ~170°C HDT Our primary material. Deepest in-house experience. Same spec as PRESION. In-house heat treatment available for stress relief and dimensional stability.
PA6 Engineering High-strength functional parts, wear-resistant components, general structural use ~80–120°C HDT Higher moisture absorption than PA12 — dry storage required. Strong and stiff when dry.
PETG Consumer+ Light-duty functional parts, enclosures, brackets, prototypes that need chemical resistance ~70–80°C HDT Easy to print, good layer adhesion, mild chemical resistance. Not for high-heat or load environments.
PLA Consumer Visual models, non-functional prototypes, fit-check parts, low-cost iteration ~50–60°C HDT Cheapest and fastest. Fine for anything that doesn't see heat, load, or chemicals. Not a production material.

Quality system

Every build at Sanchez Labs runs under a quality management system aligned to AS9100D and ISO 9001 -- the same framework used by aerospace and defense suppliers. Work instructions, inspection gates, and acceptance criteria are defined per job before the first layer is laid. That is what AS9100-aligned additive manufacturing means in practice.

Material traceability starts at the spool -- every lot received against its certificate of analysis, linked through the build record to final inspection, retained for 10 years. First article inspection (AS9102-format) is performed on new geometries and any build parameter change. In-process dimensional verification happens at gated checkpoints, not only at the end. Nonconformances are written up and resolved with corrective action. We do not carry AS9100D certification; "AS9100-aligned" is the accurate claim, and it is the one we will stand behind in any supplier evaluation.

Material Traceability Certificate of analysis per lot, linked from incoming inspection through ship
First Article Inspection AS9102-format FAI on new geometries and any build parameter change
In-Process Verification Dimensional checks at gated stages -- not only at final inspection
10-Year Record Retention Build records, inspection data, and material certs retained per job
Controlled Approved Vendor List Qualified suppliers only -- ISO 9001 sources for primary engineering materials
Nonconformance Process Written NCR and corrective action on every defect -- no quiet reprints

Frequently Asked Questions

What materials do you print in?

Our primary material is PA12 CF — carbon fiber reinforced nylon 12, rated to ~170°C HDT, fuel and oil resistant, field-validated under-hood. In-house heat treatment available for stress relief and dimensional stability. We also run PA6, PETG, and PLA. Match the material to the job — if you're not sure, tell us what the part does.

Do you print aerospace-grade parts?

Yes. PA12 CF is an aerospace-grade engineering material — high strength-to-weight, structural load-bearing, fuel and oil resistant. We run documented SOPs and inspection checklists on every build. Quality documentation and material traceability ship with your parts on request.

What's the minimum order quantity?

1 unit. No minimum run size. Single prototypes and production quantities run the same documented process.

What file formats do you accept?

STL, STEP, and 3MF. Send the file and we handle slicer setup and print orientation for your geometry.

How fast is the turnaround?

24-hour RFQ response. Most builds ship in 3–5 business days from approval. Rush availability discussed in your RFQ.

Where are you located? Do you ship?

Austin, Texas. Local pickup available. We ship anywhere in the US with tracking on every order.

Do you provide quality documentation?

Yes — SOPs, inspection checklists, and build records on every job. Request it in your RFQ and it ships with the parts.

What industries do you serve?

Automotive, aerospace, industrial manufacturing, and general engineering. We specialize in functional end-use parts with geometries that can't be machined — internal channels, complex baffling, assembled-in-place features.
